Why The Quality Of Emu Oil Varies So Much

There are many reasons for the quality of emu oil to vary. First, emu oil is still new enough in the USA marketplace that the standards can still be avoided by some "companies." Emu oil standards are set by the American Emu Association. Refined emu oil should always be lab tested and if those standards are met, the oil is of a high quality.

A Little-Known Fact:

A little known fact is that most oil products of completely different brand names are actually refined in the same refinery! Other oil industries are standardized to the point that there is basically no difference in brand names. For instance, when you purchase cooking oil it is mostly a matter of preference (a result of advertising), not quality, etc.

Emu oil is quickly becoming widely used and a total industry standard MAY come about over time but for the foreseeable future, the best thing to do is to insure that the oil you purchase is lab-tested and meets or exceeds the standards set by the American Emu Association. This is commonly referred to as "AEA tested."
